Alex Ovechkin scored the winner Thursday as the Washington Capitals downed the Vancouver Canucks 3-2. Ovechkin's fifth of the season — and fifth in five games — came on a 2-on-1 break with 4:55 left in the third period on a fluttering one-timer that went off the crossbar and in after a feed from Evgeny Kuznetsov.
